DAY 1 - SEPTEMBER 20, 2024 -  

Fly from the US to Ljubljana Airport, in Slovenia

DAY 2 - SEPTEMBER 21, 2024  - D - lJUBLJANA

Pick at Ljubljana Airport - Drop off of luggage at hotel 

(if arriving in the morning you will be taken to lunch around mid-day).

2PM: Walking tour of the Slovenian Capital, Ljubljana.  

The tour provides a comprehensive overview of Ljubljana and Slovenia's rich history, with a special emphasis on the iconic contributions of the renowned architect, Jože Plečnik.

Dinner in a local restaurant. Night in Ljubjana.

DAY 3 - SEPTEMBER 22, 2024 - B-L-D - lJUBLJANA

Tour of the Plečnik House, with helds a permanent exhibition of the architect's works.

Lunch in a local restaurant

Tour of the National & University Library

Visit of The Museum and Galleries of Ljubljana  a creative and modern institution with close links to its environment. MGML is a place of synergy and learning, a platform offering new insights into the past, present and future of Slovenia. 

Dinner in a local restaurant. Night in Ljubljana.

DAY 4 - SEPTEMBER 23, 2024 - B-L-D - BIG PASTURE PLATEAU

9AM- Pick-up  at hotel. Tour of Big Pasture Plateau starting with a ride in a cable car, to vist a very interesting Herdsman hut settlement. https://www.slovenia.info/en/places-to-go/attractions/velika-planina 

12PM- Lunch: Typical dishes on Big Pasture Plateau

2PM- Tour: Kamniška Bistrica river source and Predaselj Gorge

5PM- Drop-off at hotel in Bohinj.

8PM- Dinner: Bled Local restaurant - Night in Bohinj

DAY 5 - SEPTEMBER 24, 2024 - B-L-D - ALPINE REGION 

Pletna ride to the Bled Island with visit of the Church

1PM Lunch: Local restaurant (Bled area)

3-6PM- Tour of Bled Belvedere (Plečnik’s work) and Bled Castle https://nonument.org/nonuments/belvedere-pavilion/

8PM- Dinner: Bled local restaurant - Night in Bohinj.

DAY 6 - SEPTEMBER 25, 2024 - B-L-D - ALPINE REGION

8AM- Pick-up: Bohinj Accommodation

9AM- Tour of the Vršič pass

2PM- Short Hike of the Great Soča Gorge

4PM- Tour of the Kluže Fort: Koritnica gorge is one of the most visited cultural sights in the Soča valley. It is an important monument to the defence against Turkish invasions, Napoleon's army and attacks during World War I.

Drop-off in Trieste Hotel. Dinner with the group. Night in Trieste.

 

DAY 7 - SEPTEMBER 27, 2024 - BLD - KARST & TRIESTE

2PM- Lunch at Local restaurant

7PM- Dinner in Local seafood restaurant.

DAY 8: SEPTEMBER 23, 2024 - TRIESTE

Trieste Walking Tour. 

Free afternoon to explore that fascinating city.

DAY 9: SEPTEMBER 24, 2024 - PIRAN 

We leave Trieste to go to Piran, a very interesting city.........

Lunch followed by checking into our hotel, before going on a visit of  a Salt plant

DAY 10: SEPTEMBER 25, 2024 - KARST 

We leave Piran to visit in Staniel the beautiful formal Ferrari garden designed by Maks Fabiani

Lunch in a local Karst restaurant before visiting the Postojna Cave and the Predjama Castle.

We are back in Ljubljana for the night.

 

DAY 11:  This is the day to say good bye to Slovenia. You will be taken to the airport.
